Rajasthan - Aththidevo Bhava

Folklore of heroism and romance resound from the formidable monuments that majestically stand to tell the tale of a bygone period. The magic of vivid Rajasthan - its rich heritage, colourful culture, interesting desert safaris, shining sand-dunes, amazing range lush forests and differed wildlife - makes it a location nonpareil. Rajasthan is commonly depicted as one substantial al fresco gallery, with its antiques so well protected that it delights even the most hesitant traveler.

It is an incredible destination for the outdoor-tourist-- take a safari on horses, camels, elephants and even in jeeps, with the Aravalis - India's earliest range of mountains as the backdrop. Feast your eyes on incredible sand-dunes, take the tiger path, or just see the birds in the wetlands. You can also choose to indulge yourself in the luxurious heritage properties. Rajasthan has something for everyone-- one just has to choose an activity appropriate to one's personality.

Mount ABU Wildlife Sanctuary

The refuge makes up the earliest mountain varieties - The Aravallis. Apart from having a number of sightseeing places, this refuge is a draw for nature fans. In shape, this shelter is narrow and long but the top spreads out into a picturesque plateau which is about 19 km in length and 5-8 km in breadth.

Of these, 663 species are di-cots while 157 species are monocots. 3 species of wild roses and 16 species of ferns some of which are quite rare have actually also been shown from below. The south-west part of the refuge is rich in bamboo woodlands.

The refuge is rich in organic medical plants also. About 81 species of trees, 89 species of bushes, 28 types of climbers and 17 types of tuberous plants of medical value have been determined.

A range of fauna including highly rare, threatened and threatened types are found in this haven. The past history of Mount Abu shows the presence of lions (last recorded in 1872) and tigers (last reported in 1970). Currently the panther is the apex predator. Various other animals discovered here are Sambhar, Jungle Feline, Small Indian Civet, Wolf, Hyena, Jackal, Indian Fox, Common Langoor, Swine, Pangolin, Rat, Common Mongoose, Indian Hare, Porcupine, Hedgehog, etc. The shelter offers an optimal environment for Sloth Bear. The population of Sloth Bear is increasing frequently as it can be seen while experiencing the woodlands or motoring on the road.

A range of fauna consisting of extremely unusual, threatened and jeopardized species are found in this shelter.
